This Draft Standard for Trial Use contains the format and establishes the data contents of the Railroad Service Commitment Advice Transaction Set (453) for use within the context of an Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) environment. The transaction set can be used by a Rail Interline Service Management shipment sponsor to communicate service commitment details to transportation service providers.
To indicate the start of a transaction set and to assign a control number
To transmit identifying numbers, dates, and other basic data relating to the transaction set
