To transmit standard code list identification information
To identify standard industry codes
This X12 Transaction Set contains the format and establishes the data contents of the Environmental Compliance Reporting Transaction Set (179) for use within the context of an Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) environment. The transaction set can be used by commercial and public facilities to submit environmental compliance reports to the Environmental Protection Agency and state and local environmental agencies. The transaction set can also be used to forward data or exchange environmental compliance data amongst environmental agencies at all levels of government, and to return status to the submitter.
To indicate the start of a transaction set and to assign a control number
To indicate the beginning of a transaction set
To transmit identifying information as specified by the Reference Identification Qualifier
To specify pertinent dates and times
To specify textual data
To supply the full name of an individual or organizational entity
To specify additional names
To specify the location of the named party
To specify the geographic place of the named party
To transmit identifying information as specified by the Reference Identification Qualifier
To identify title of an individual within a company
To identify a person or office to whom administrative communications should be directed
To transmit an electronic identity
To identify and answer yes and no questions, including the date, time, and comments further qualifying the condition
To specify pertinent dates and times
To transmit standard code list identification information
To identify standard industry codes
To describe the location in space and time of the axis of an item relative to an origin axis; Euclidean geometry has been assumed with orthogonal axes; the sequence of axes has been chosen in the customary sequence of X, Y, and Z, however, it is possible to just use two-dimensional space rather than three-dimensional space
To specify physical measurements or counts, including dimensions, tolerances, variances, and weights (See Figures Appendix for example of use of C001)
To identify attributes and status related to the object
To transfer binary data in a single data segment, convey a critical filter for transmission and allow identification of the end of the data segment through a count; there is no identification of the internal structure of the binary data in this segment
To identify dependencies among and the content of hierarchically related groups of data segments
To provide a description of the included specification or technical data items
To specify identifying information
To specify pertinent dates and times
To identify and answer yes and no questions, including the date, time, and comments further qualifying the condition
To identify the type or transmission or both of paperwork or supporting information
To specify textual data
To supply the full name of an individual or organizational entity
To specify additional names
To specify the location of the named party
To specify the geographic place of the named party
To identify a person or office to whom administrative communications should be directed

To specify quantity information
To specify identifying information
